Books can be a fun way to help children to recognise, understand and communicate their feelings. Reading can also encourage empathy, emotional literacy and simplify complex emotions.
We share our recommendations for books for preschool and primary school aged children covering a range of topics from separation anxiety, consent, sharing our worries and tips for staying calm.
Although these books are suitable for all children, we understand how difficult it can be for boys to access positive stories of other boys handling sensitive and difficult emotions, which is why we have also developed a list specifically with boys in mind here.
We would love to know if you have read any of these, and what you thought.
Are there any others you think need adding to the list? Let us know.
